This week’s breeder spotlight is on Tracy Logan owner of Northern Light French Bulldog and breeder of French Bulldogs.
Here’s the interview!
Tell us how you first got into the breed?
“I got my first Frenchie in 2004, I was interested in the breed and there history. I studied and ended up getting a long time mentor in the breed. It became my goal to promote health, temperament and conformation, along with protecting our standards.”
Why do you love the French Bulldog Breed?
“I love French Bulldogs due to the personalities and they remind me of people sometimes. They take on your family routine. They love to travel.”
Are there any families who French Bulldogs wouldn’t be good with?
“French Bulldogs wouldn’t do well in a home that does a lot of outdoor activities due to them being a brachial cephalic breed. French Bulldogs don’t handle extreme heat or cold.
French Bulldogs take a lot care due to wrinkles and being a dwarf breed they can experience more health issues than other normal size breeds.
French Bulldogs are not a breed that can be left alone for long periods of time.”
Why do you feel like showing your French Bulldogs?
“For me showing has been in my family for generations even before women were allowed.
Showing my dogs are a presentation of my years of hard work and health testing studying pedigrees and dedication to breed.
I enjoy showing due to my love of the breed.”
Tell us what makes you stand out as a breeder?
“Standing out as a breeder, well that would be due to preservation of our breed and not over breeding. Making sure all health testing is done and most of all the raising of the pups that go or stay that when then go to their new humans they are well adjusted and healthy.”
